Reviews about The Wishing Well
- 1 / 5By Daniel C WestJust had thanksgiving dinner and it was average food and ok service (although never was offered coffee at end of meal). Bit of caution they have the worst "coat check". They lost my cashmere cost, leather gloves and scarf. They were totally irresponsible and I had to loose my cool to get anyone to listen. Their response:; not to worry, they were quite sure "someone@ would realize at some point they had wrong coat and would contact them. Really? I am suppose to go home in the cold wet wintry weather without a coat and not to worry about it. The owner never offered any kind of offer to offset the trouble I was experiencing! They owe me at least $1000. For the cost and gloves and scarf And something for my trouble. Stay away from this place!May 24, 2017
- 3 / 5By John BaldwinWe haven't been here in 25 years but made Mother's Day dinner reservations. Atmosphere, service and food were good. Seating was very tight. There were too many tables in the dinning room, so it was like an obstacle course for the wait staff and patrons. The portion sizes were small; from the appetizers to the dinners and desserts. The prices were not proportional to the portion sizes, so it was a little pricey for what we received. With all of the other choices in Saratoga, it's going to be a while before we return.January 22, 2017
- 5 / 5By Alyssa KienastMy husband and I live up the road and love it here. They have the best happy hour deals (1/2 off small plates and drink specials), a cozy old school swanky atmosphere (without being pretentious), and creative high quality food (crab cake sliders and the truffle onion dip are amazing). The staff is warm and friendly and you always feel welcome and excited to be there. I guess what really stands out is the dining experience always feels special. Often when you go out to dinner, it can feel a bit like a turn and burn sort of enviornment . Foods come flying out of the kitchen, checks are left on the table before you're done with your meal, and servers are going through the motions. We always feel taken care of at the Wishing Well and maybe even a bit spoiled. Friends who visit from metro areas - from Boston to NYC to DC - are always impressed and consider WW a go-to anytime they come to Saratoga!
But the service is really what separates it and is why I'm finally writing a review. I stopped in tonight for the Tuesday to Go special ($25.00 for a three course meal for two) and had my one year old teething and very unhappy baby with me. I thought I could swing in and out without a scene, but she started to fuss very loudly as soon as we walked in. I immediately felt embarrassed and anxious to pick up my food and run out the door. However traveling with a baby alone, means you don't move anywhere fast. The staff and fellow patrons gave me knowing looks and didn't seem to mind I was killing the vibe in the least. The owner, Bob, immediately came to my rescue and cashed me out. He Offered to carry my little ones car seat and take out bag and followed me out in the cold to put the food in my car. There aren't many places like the Wishing Well left and I feel so lucky to have it as our go-to!September 22, 2016 - 3 / 5By Joseph DonaldsonUnfortunately the beef was raw at the party we attended, crab cakes were delicious.June 03, 2016
